Strategy Lesson
1. The 3-Step Expansion Pattern
For many Part 1 questions, avoid one-line answers. Use:
- Answer — respond directly.
- Reason — explain why.
- Example / Detail — add one natural detail.
Question: Do you enjoy reading?
Weak: Yes, I do.
Stronger: Yes, especially non-fiction. I enjoy it because I can learn something practical, and I usually read for about twenty minutes before bed.
2. Reduce Hesitation
- Do not search for a perfect word; paraphrase and continue.
- Use natural linking phrases such as because, for example, especially, although, so.
- A short pause is better than repeated fillers.
- Keep the answer moving even if the grammar is not perfect.
Goal: clear, connected speech—not memorised perfection.
